According to the latest sources, we will soon see the arrival of an upgraded version of Apple’s M1X Mac mini. And it’s not just that, but the latest report reveals that a leaker allegedly leaked the schematics of the device, and it reveals how the machine looks and the ports it will carry.
The leaker behind the scenes is none other than LeaksApplePro, and the leaks schematic rendered in the leak is quite similar to what we say previously with the schematic outlook of the M1X Mac mini.
Going with the freshly leaked schematics, it’s safe to say that the device will be a thinner design than the M1 Mac mini, and it will also have a ‘plexiglass’ material present on top of the chassis. Here are the ports it will have starting from left to right:
- Power button
- Magnetic charging port
- Four Thunderbolt 4 ports
- Two USB-A ports
- One RJ45 Ethernet jack
- One HDMI port
We see new and interesting entries like the magnetic output, along with additional Thunderbolt 4 ports. Considering how apple is and seeing that this is just the M1X Mac mini, this appears like overkill. However, one thing may or may not disappoint content creators and creativity, and that is the absence of an SD card reader.
But, if you do use an SD card and is missing the card reader, you can either purchase a dongle that has one, or buys one of the M1X MacBook Pro models, as both the 14-inch and 16-inch will be sporting an SD Card reader.
Coming to other specifications of the device, the M1X Mac mini will reportedly be limited to 32GB of unified RAM; however, its macOS and that size of RAM is more than enough for most of the users. We still have no news about the pricing details of the device, but we do have a hint that the device could be unveiled alongside the new MacBook Pro models during Q4, 2021.
