Carlo Ancelotti brought James Rodriques to Everton where he performed brilliantly in the first half of the season but faded away in the second half. Now, Ancelotti has returned to their former club Real Madrid and James is also on the verge of leaving Everton as his future is up in the air with new Everton manager Rafa Benitez.
However, the Colombian has ruled out a move to Real Madrid despite Ancelotti signing as the manager. He hopes to play in Italy next season.
James told fans on Twitch: “I don’t know what’s going to happen this season. I don’t know where I’m going to play.”
“In football and in life you don’t know anything, but all I know is that I’ve been training hard, preparing well, training for myself and that’s it.”
“The situation is complicated. I’ll play wherever they want me. You have to be at a place where they want you.”
“I don’t think [I will return to Real Madrid]. It’s a closed cycle that I won’t be repeating.”
James continued: “Which league I would like to play in? I don’t know,”
“As I said before, [I’ll go] wherever I’m wanted. I’ve already played in all [the leagues] apart from Italy. I don’t know.”
“[Going to Italy] would be a good option, but I don’t know if it will happen in the future.”
“It would be good to make that record [of having played in all five major European leagues]. I don’t know how many players have done that, I think a few. It would be good to get that record.”
