Chinese smartphone pioneer Xiaomi has announced that it will announce brand new smart home products in the coming week. This event will be a global release, but some of these products may be limited to select markets.
The launch event will be held on Monday, the 26th of July, and the event will commence at 20:00 (GMT+8). The poster released by Xiaomi today hints at one or more new products that we can expect Xiaomi to come out with. One of these products appears to be a smart cooking appliance, it could be only one cooking appliance, or there may also be others along with it.
This could probably be the product that may be limited to Chinese markets only as Xiaomi sells multiple rice cookers, induction cookers, and electric kettles there already. It has a ready customer base in the smart kitchen appliance market there already.
The global release could witness Xiaomi introducing a brand new robot vacuum cleaners and air purifiers for the international market.
Xiaomi is looking to expand its global market presence; currently, it has a notable market presence in India and China. The company is now attempting to increase its market share in Europe and establish itself there as well.
The increasing demand for smart home appliances gives Xiaomi a great opportunity to enter European markets. What is also notable is that Xiaomi has recently surpassed Samsung in Russia to become the market leader there.
In Europe, Xiaomi focuses on cheap and affordable devices, a strategy similar to one that the brand tried and tested successfully in India and China. It has also been betting big on the POCO brand and Redmi devices as well across Europe.
Xiaomi is currently working on a new batch of flagship devices on its own for this quarter; the next highly-anticipated device is the Mi MIX 4.
