Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala have both been linked with moves away from Juventus this summer. But, according to club vice-president Pavel Nedved, both the players will be staying in Turin for the upcoming season.
“Ronaldo will return to training on Monday and he will stay with us.” The vice-president said, talking about the Portugal captain. Ronaldo was the highest scorer in Serie A in 20/21, but Juventus finished fourth in the league, giving up their streak of winning the Italian league to Inter Milan.
The rumours of Ronaldo leaving Juventus rose from their comparatively poor performance in the season gone by. Manchester United and PSG were linked as possible destinations, but neither looks likely now.
Paulo Dybala, on the other hand, has been struggling with injuries recently. The forward has been linked with a swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann of Barcelona, but the likelihood of that happening is very low.
The striker is still not fit to feature since he is suffering a slight muscular problem. He, like Ronaldo, only has one year left on his current contract and could depart on a free transfer next season if a new deal is not agreed between the two parties.
But, Nedved does not see the situation as problematic and is confident that they will agree a new contract with Dybala. “(Director Federico) Cherubini has already been in contact with his agent, who will arrive in Turin next week. We are in good time to get the situation resolved, it’s not a problem,” he added.
