Sorting out Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract is the biggest decision that Juventus have to make this summer. And as per the last update on the situation, Jorge Mendes had asked the club for an extension despite rumours linking him with a move away.
Ronaldo currently earns €31 million per season at Juventus, and only a few clubs can match that sum, especially in the current financial climate. Manchester United and PSG were two clubs linked with a potential move for the player since they can afford his wages primarily.Â
However, according to Calciomercato, Manchester City have emerged as a potential destination for the player as well. The Sky Blues are no closer to signing Harry Kane and need a striker following the departure of Sergio Aguero at the end of the previous season. They are also one of the few clubs who can afford Ronaldo’s wages, but a move was always out of question due to his tenure with United.Â
But now, it seems like it could happen for the Portuguese international. Although, the same report says that his future is far from being sorted out. Ronaldo currently has a year left on his deal with Juventus and is more likely to stay and work with Max Allegri again. But if he decides to move on from Turin, then Pep Guardiola’s squad could be one of the places he ends up next, to the dismay of Manchester United fans who hold CR7 in high regard due to his time with them.
