Federico Chiesa has attracted interest from the likes of Bayern Munich. Their new head coach Julian Nagelsmann was asked about his thoughts on the player and whether the club would move for him this summer.
“Yes, he’s good but he’s expensive, too,” Nagelsmann told Bild. “He’s a top player, with incredible drive. I have known him for a long time and I find him exceptional because he often goes for a one-on-one, he tries to shoot very fast.”
The Italian winger, who won the Euro 2020 trophy with the Italian national team last night, is now being valued in excess of €60 million. He is currently on loan at Juventus, and it is without a doubt that the Fiorentina loanee will be made a permanent member of the Juventus squad at the end of his loan spell.
The winger has scored 14 times for Juventus in the 43 appearances he made so far. He also featured for the Bianconeri as they won the 2021 Coppa Italia by defeating Atalanta in the finals.
Bayern Munich are very particular about their recruitment plans, and they were priced out of a move for RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo as well. Club chairman Oliver Kahn has spoken out about the need to reduce wages in this dire financial market and has acknowledged that there is no place for massive salary demands at Bayern.
Kingsley Coman and his representatives have made it clear that they want a move away from this summer, and Chiesa would have been a brilliant replacement if the transfers did go through.
