Paris Saint-Germain seem to have mistakenly announced the signing of Sergio Ramos early. The French club released an article confirming his signing, but deleted it shortly afterwards, according to Goal.
The player has been in discussions for a two-year contract with the French club, and has accepted their terms. He also completed his medicals, and has signed the contract according to some sources. PSG were swift to complete the negotiations after his departure from Real Madrid as a free agent.
While the announcement will be made some time soon, they announced the signing of Achraf Hakimi yesterday. And confirming a brand-new deal right the day after is not something that is common in the modern day. Ramos will surely be announced as a PSG player, but not just yet.
Ramos will be wearing his favoured 4 shirt, much like he did at Real Madrid. He left Real Madrid after spending 16 years, and led them to 22 trophies, all of which he was pictured with during his farewell from the club.
While Ramos wanted a two-year extension offer from Real Madrid, the club were only willing to offer him a one-year long deal according to club policy. The player eventually decided to renew, but was not aware that the one-year offer came with an expiry date.
PSG were the only club to keep in touch with his agent throughout the issue and have now completed two out of three potential free signings.
