GTA 6 Pre-Load Dates Set for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S: Here’s What to Know

Grand Theft Auto VI or GTA 6 is now about a week away from pre-loading. Rockstar Games has confirmed that digital pre-loading starts on Tuesday, November 10 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and that code-in-box copies will reach retailers from November 12. Players in India should plan for a late-night start on PlayStation and an early-morning one on Xbox.

Key Dates at a Glance

For players in India, midnight on November 10 IST is 6:30 p.m. GMT on November 9, so PlayStation 5 pre-loading opens on the evening of November 9 in GMT terms. Xbox pre-loading opens at 5:30 a.m. IST on November 10.

Prepare for a Large Download

The pre-load file is up to 212 GB, depending on the device. That is a significant amount of storage, so check your free space before November 10. Starting the download early gives you the best chance of being ready when the game unlocks.

Rockstar’s support site has step-by-step instructions for pre-loading on both consoles. Read them before the window opens so you are not troubleshooting at midnight.

A Free Poster and Map Arrive on November 19

On November 19, Rockstar will add an official printable Grand Theft Auto VI cover art poster and a map of Leonida to its official website as a free digital download. A double-sided physical version of the poster will be available shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store, for $0.99 on its own or as a free gift with any purchase from the store.

Where to Learn More

Rockstar’s official site has the latest videos, including An Extended Look, which shows more of the game’s world. The Only in Leonida section explores the game’s setting, and the music page includes in-game radio previews and singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Details on the Ultimate Edition are also available there.
