What the New Clip Shows?
During a Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance, Bettany unveiled a clip from Episode 7. Inside the Mindspace, White Vision, in human form and wearing a pinstripe suit, walks down the stairs of his mind and finds the original red Vision waiting at the entrance.
The original Vision remarks, in a poetic tone, that after all the battles and monsters he faced, the only force strong enough to imprison him is himself. White Vision pushes back immediately: “This isn’t a prison.” The clip ends there, with no explanation for how the original exists or why he feels confined.

What Is the Mindspace?
It’s the show’s visualization of Vision’s mind, a bizarre AI-simulated home. It also holds the consciousnesses of several of Tony Stark’s other AI creations, including JARVIS (James D’Arcy), EDITH (Emily Hampshire) and Ultron (James Spader).
Quick Vision Timeline
- Age of Ultron: JARVIS is fused into a new body and becomes Vision
- Infinity War: Thanos rips the Mind Stone from his forehead, ending the original
- WandaVision: Wanda creates a Hex version, while S.W.O.R.D. builds White Vision from the original’s remains
- VisionQuest: White Vision struggles with the memories he inherited
Is the Original Truly Back?
The Direct says it’s unlikely the original Vision is alive, since his body was dismantled and rebuilt with a new consciousness. Possible explanations include a manifestation of White Vision’s inherited memories or a dormant AI inside him.
The conversation could also be a breakthrough, perhaps setting up a merger of the two Visions into one. That would fit the show’s themes of identity and self-acceptance, and answer whether White Vision is an empty shell or someone who can reclaim his humanity.
