The Perfect Lie Premieres October 30: One Date, Two Opposite Memories

What if the perfect first date ended with two people swearing to completely different stories? That is the hook of MBC’s new thriller, and it reunites two K-drama favourites after a decade.

The Perfect Lie : Overview

What Is the Story About?

It’s a psychological thriller in which a man and a woman give completely opposite accounts of the same memory and clash fiercely over the truth. Think of it as a romance that curdles into a courtroom of the mind.

Meet the Two Leads

Min Joon Ho is the man everyone trusts. He’s a cardiac surgeon raising his son alone after his wife’s death, a perfectionist who tolerates no error in surgery, yet funny and innocent in daily life. The stills also show a darker side: he sits alone in a dark interrogation room, staring at someone.

Kang Ji Sun is the one who insists she’s telling the truth. She’s an elementary school librarian and teacher who looks closely at the intentions behind people’s words. An earlier teaser showed her sharply saying, “I’m telling you, it’s not a lie.”

Why Fans Are Excited?

• Role reversal: The actors were romantic partners in Dr. Romantic, but this time they face off.
• A killer tagline: The poster caption reads “You’re the one who lied.”
• No easy villain: One of them is lying, and you won’t know who until the story unfolds.
• Strong supporting cast: Ok Ja Yeon, Im Seong Jae, Kim Ji Hyun, and Lee Chun Hee round out the main cast. soompi
