Summer Vacation Is Coming to Viki, and One Village Could Change Two Teens’ Lives

Some dramas don’t just tell a love story. They make you want to book a train to somewhere green and quiet. Summer Vacation, starring B1A4’s Jin Young and Cho Yi Hyun, looks like one of them.

Summer Vacation: The Drama

Reason 1: Upo Feels Like Another World

Ha Yeon is an ordinary high schooler who leaves the busy city to join her father on a business trip to Upo, a village where time seems to slow down. The cinematography is set to capture lush greenery and a vivid blue sea, creating moments that feel almost too beautiful to be real.

Reason 2: Two Worlds Collide

Jin Young plays Yu Gyeom, a teenager stuck in a monotonous life and weighed down by his traditional family’s strict rules. Cho Yi Hyun plays Ha Yeon, who longs to escape reality and become the main character of her own story. When they meet, Yu Gyeom begins to feel new and unexpected emotions, and the chemistry between the two is expected to set hearts fluttering.

Reason 3: Romance With a Shadow

Upo looks quiet and peaceful, but there’s an undercurrent of mystery beneath it. Hong Ye Ji adds tension as Sae Ryung, Yu Gyeom’s longtime girlfriend, who isn’t pleased by Ha Yeon’s sudden arrival. She sways both leads’ emotions and is set to play a key role in the story.

Is It Worth Your Watchlist?

If you enjoy slow, atmospheric romances where setting matters as much as dialogue, this is a strong pick. The mix of youthful romance and quiet suspense gives it more bite than a typical summer love story. Curious about the actor’s music career? See the B1A4 Wikipedia page.
