The Characters Driving the Story
Jung Min Yong (Kim Woo Bin) was a pitching coach for the pro team Manders. After being falsely accused of verbally abusing players and then having an accident, his life takes a major turn. He later gains a special gift and takes on the challenge of coaching Deokcheon High School’s baseball team.
Yoon Seo Jin (Seo Eun Soo) heads the school’s baseball team and is determined to protect its players. Unlike Min Yong, who prioritizes results, she values the process of growth.
Ahn Gi Man (Seo Hyun Woo) is the Manders’ acting manager. He judges players by performance and statistics, which puts him in conflict with Min Yong.
The Young Team Steals the Show
The student players are played by Cha Been (formerly Lim Su Been), Han Si Hyun, Park Sung Hyun, Han Tae Ha and Kim Gun Woo. At the reading, they even practiced their teamwork by chanting their team cheer together. Cha Been and Han Si Hyun both have backgrounds as high school baseball players, which should add real authenticity on the field.
What the Cast Said?
Kim Woo Bin said the atmosphere was great and praised the students’ energy. Seo Eun Soo said that while reading the script, she felt he was Jung Min Yong himself. Cha Been promised the drama will be a gift for viewers who love baseball and those who don’t. For more on the sport behind the story, see baseball on Wikipedia.
