FC Barcelona confirm first two preseason friendlies

This 2021-22 season will be a significant season for Barcelona or, say, a “year of change,” it is because a lot of things are going on meanwhile. From Messi staying at the club most probably to signing some great players for free or showing the exit door for many players at the club, this is the first full-season that Joan Laporta will get to opportunitize from scratch.

Through the mountain is very steep, thanks to Bartomeu for the financial mess at the club; however, Barca fans are convinced that their favourite club will get its glory back. So, this season’s first two preseason friendlies have been recently confirmed by the club.

Here’s official Barcelona’s announcement:

The first two games of the Barça preseason have been confirmed. Preparations for 2021/22 will kick off with a couple of friendlies at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, against Gimnàstic Tarragona and Girona, exactly the same two sides that Barça faced in the opening pair of games last summer..

The games can both be seen live and worldwide on Barça TV+ and on Barça TV both in Catalonia on DTT, and elsewhere in Spain via subscriber channels.

The game against Nàstic is on Wednesday 21 July and is a repeat of the friendly that the Blaugrana won 3-1 a year ago. Three days later, the Estadi Johan Cruyff will be the venue once again, on Saturday 24 July, for the Girona game. Last year’s meeting also ended 3-1.

The FC Barcelona preseason will officially start on on July 9 and 10 with the routine medical checks, with training itself beginning on July 12 at the Ciutat Esportiva.
