Meet the Director: Vidhi Ghodgaonkar
The film marks a directorial step for Vidhi Ghodgaonkar, who has spent 17 years as a protégé of filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Sources say that long association is expected to bring an interesting perspective to a romantic story. It is also a notable shift, since Rohit Shetty is best known for big-scale action and comedy entertainers, while this film leans into romance.
Krithi’s Journey So Far
Krithi rose to prominence with the Telugu film Uppena, which established her as a promising young talent. She then appeared in films across Telugu and Tamil cinema. You can read more about her career on Wikipedia.
Her recent and upcoming work includes:
- Love Insurance Kompany: Directed by Vignesh Shivan, with Pradeep Ranganathan and SJ Suryah.
- Genie: A multilingual film in the pipeline, starring Jayam Ravi, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Why This Matters?
South stars crossing over into Hindi cinema is a growing trend, and a love story is a gentle, audience-friendly way to make that move. A first-time director with a strong mentor and a fresh lead pair-up (once the male lead is revealed) could make this one to watch.
