Before you drop into Hajin, there’s a home base worth learning: the Forward Operating Base (FOB). It’s where you stash loot, craft gear, swap Operators and plan your next run. Learn it now and you’ll waste far less time on October 20.
For franchise background, see Call of Duty on Wikipedia.

DMZ has its own progression track that runs to Level 70, and you keep the XP even if you fail to exfil.
Operators: Your Squad’s Backbone
You start with two Active Duty slots, or three with the Vault Edition. Operators earn Trait Points as their Dog Tags level up, up to 18 points, spread across three trees: Warfighter, Scout and Survivalist. Traits are permanent once chosen.
The catch: if an Operator dies, they go MIA and you pay DMZ Cash to recover them. The more Traits they hold, the higher the price, and they return without gear.
Your First Crafting Session
At Level 2, the 3D Printer unlocks starter recipes. Resources like Synthetics, Electronics, Chemicals and Metals break down automatically as you loot. Other items are 3D Printer Ingredients you extract intact.
| Early Recipe | Why Print It |
|---|---|
| Bandage | Temporarily restores health when wounded |
| Medkit | Repairs wounds and restores full health |
| 1-Plate Armor Vest | Basic protection |
| Small Backpack | Extra item slots |
| Medium Backpack | Adds Secure slots that protect items if you fail to exfil |
Smart Habits for Day One
- Pack the essentials. A plate carrier, backpack, weapon and Medkit are the recommended basics.
- Use Secure slots. Items inside them survive a failed exfil.
- Offload after every extract. Your Stash holds 40 items and 12 weapons to begin with.
- Track key recipes. Pin them in the 3D Printer so you spot ingredients while looting.
- Find Weapon Manuals. You need one to buy that weapon at the Gunsmith.
