A Standout Debut for the Franchise
Neagley premiered on 16 September 2026, the same day as the Season 4 finale of its parent series, Reacher, with all eight episodes released at once. According to figures released by Amazon, which has not disclosed exactly how it calculates the number, the first season reached 40 million viewers globally within its first 13 days of availability.
That performance made Neagley the fourth most-viewed original series debut in Prime Video’s history, with the streamer also noting that the season ranks among the ten most-viewed seasons of any Prime Video original series to date. More than half of that viewership, 52%, came from outside the United States, underlining the show’s strength as an international draw.

What Neagley Is About
Based on the character created by author Lee Child in his Jack Reacher novels, Neagley follows Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and former military protégé of Jack Reacher within the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. In the first season, Neagley discovers that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident and sets out on a mission for justice. Reacher star Alan Ritchson appears in a guest-starring role across the season. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios.
Part of a Growing Franchise
Neagley’s renewal comes just days after Reacher itself was renewed for a sixth season, even as its fifth season remains in production, marking the first time the flagship series has been renewed for two seasons within the same calendar year. Reacher Season 5 is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2027, ahead of both Reacher Season 6 and Neagley Season 2.
Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, said audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a compelling character in her own right, adding that the studio looks forward to continuing her story alongside its partners at Paramount Television Studios.
What’s Next
No premiere date has been announced yet for Neagley Season 2. With Reacher Season 5 currently filming and due out in 2027, Neagley’s second season is expected to follow in the broader rollout of Prime Video’s expanding Reacher universe. All episodes of both Neagley and Reacher’s first four seasons remain available to stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
