OTT Releases This Weekend: 7 New Movies and Series on Netflix, JioHotstar, Zee5 and Prime Video

Weekend plans sorted? Not yet? This week’s OTT lineup has a bit of everything: romance, courtroom drama, supernatural mystery, zombie comedy, and anime. All seven titles dropped on October 2, so you can start watching right now. Here’s a quick guide to help you choose.

This Weekend’s OTT Releases : Overview

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit: A Gentle Malayalam Love Story (JioHotstar)

Ashley, played by Mamitha Baiju, moves with her family to a close-knit Catholic neighbourhood near Ernakulam. Before long she’s pulled into the local church prayer committee, and she quietly falls for Justin, a caterer played by Nivin Pauly.

There’s a 12-year age gap, plenty of neighbourhood gossip, and a shared love of music that keeps them close. Justin’s temperamental younger brother adds to the chaos. It’s a warm, feel-good pick if you want something light.

Pooja Meri Jaan: A Gripping Courtroom Thriller (Zee5)

Mrunal Thakur plays Pooja, who turns down a proposal from her longtime theatre friend. His reaction is devastating, and he leaves behind a message that blames her. Pooja is suddenly arrested and put on trial, facing public judgement and victim-blaming.

Her friend Sana, a defence lawyer, fights a stubborn prosecutor to expose the truth about the obsession behind it all. The film deals with heavy themes, so go in prepared. If you like tense, issue-driven drama, this one is worth your time.

#Love: Chemistry vs Compatibility (Netflix)

This Tamil romance stars Aishwarya Lekshmi as Tara, a tech founder who believes compatibility makes relationships work. Arjun Das plays Matthew, a rival investor who swears chemistry matters more.

To settle it, they take on a 60-day dating challenge using each other’s apps. Spending so much time together makes the lines blur fast, and their logic starts to crumble. Think of it as a smart, modern rom-com about love in the age of dating apps.

Mahendragiri Varahi: A Curse That Spans Two Centuries (Netflix)

In this Telugu mystery, a royal family in Mahendragiri village is haunted by a curse. Every male heir is said to die at age 33. Sumanth plays Siddharth, an atheist YouTuber who debunks superstitions and travels to the village to investigate.

With help from his assistant, he uncovers an ancestral sin tied to the wrath of Goddess Varahi, played by Aishwarya Rajesh. The film also features Malavika Nair and Brahmanandam. It’s a good fit for fans of slow-burning, atmospheric thrillers.

Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc (Netflix)

Anime fans, this one’s for you. Teenage demon Shiki Ichinose and his mentor travel to a secret facility near Kegon Falls to hunt down a rogue group of Oni. They face intense battles against Momotaro agents, and Shiki reaches major turning points as he learns to master his powers.

I Would Rather Die (Prime Video)

This Mexican horror comedy follows Archie, a high-school misfit bitten by a zombie at a corner mini-mart. Instead of turning right away, he’s stuck between human and undead. With his goth best friend and longtime crush, he races to find a cure while uncovering a weird conspiracy involving a vitamin pyramid scheme and strict local religious ladies.
