Few actresses can turn a quiet glance into pure dread the way Cho Yeo Jeong can. So when news broke that she may be heading back into thriller territory, fans everywhere sat up straight.
On October 2, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Cho Yeo Jeong has been cast as the lead in an upcoming horror thriller, Women in the Poisoned Jar (a literal title). Why a Restaurant Makes Perfect Horror Material?
A restaurant is a place we associate with comfort, warmth and shared meals. That’s exactly why it works so well for horror. Trust is built into the setting: we trust the people cooking, serving and sitting beside us. When a story turns that trust into a threat, the fear feels personal.
The title hints at something darker still. A “poisoned jar” suggests secrets that have been sealed away and left to ferment. We don’t have plot details yet, so the premise remains a delicious mystery.
The Director Behind the Camera
Baek Seung Bin previously directed The Outstanding Woman, Horror Stories 3, I Have a Date with Spring and So Long, See You Tomorrow. His experience with the horror genre makes the pairing with Cho Yeo Jeong especially intriguing, since she has a talent for mixing elegance with unease.
