Apple has been extremely generous with its free trials and has also offered a year of Apple TV Plus for free and extended the same offer multiple times. In addition, the company is pushing its service to be well known in the market and establish its solid presence.
However, the free ride seems to be coming to an end. According to the source, starting from July 1st, 2021, people who will buy a new Apple device will only be offered three months of free video streaming rather than a year. And once the trial period is over, Apple TV Plus’ $4.99 per month subscription cost kicks in.
The latest change has been listed in the fine print on the new Apple TV 4K product page and also in Apple’s official terms and conditions for the promotion.
Eligible devices activated July 1, 2021, or later will qualify for offers of 3 months free Apple TV+, while those activated on June 30, 2021, or earlier will qualify for offers of 1 year free Apple TV+.
However, Apple reducing the duration of the free trial means that the Cupertino giant is now confident enough in its Apple TV slate that people will stick around. The company plans to release a new season of Ted Lasso in July, and one of the bigger, blockbuster TV shows the company has planned for the rest of the year, like Invasion or Foundation.Â
It seems that Apple is quite confident about Ted Lasso and is trying to elevate the excitement. The company announced merchandise and a new trailer for the show’s second season on Monday.
For users who buy and activate Apple’s device before June 30th, 2021, can still take advantage of the original, longer promotion. So choose your poison.
