Apple’s chips are in a league of their own and they have created a buzz in the market after their arrival. We have already seen Apple’s iPhone and iPad featuring its custom mobile silicon’s for a while now. But the biggest change came when the Cupertino giant decided to migrate from Intel and adopt its own Apple silicon.

And when it comes to smartphone performance than Apple’s iPhone 12 series is currently by far the most powerful device in terms of CPU and GPU performance. However, it seems that Samsung might be looking to design its custom CPU as it seeks former Apple and AMD silicon engineers.

According to sources, Samsung is seeking to hire silicon employees who have exited from Apple and other organizations. Samsung already offers two variants of silicon chips in its flagship smartphone, and they are powered by either an Exynos chip or a Snapdragon chip.

In November of 2019, Samsung shut down its internal team that specialized in designing custom CPU cores called Mongoose.

however, according to recent sources, Samsung might be planning to make its processors since it was not impressed by the performance of the ARM CPU design. So the news that the company is looking to hire new engineers that have previously worked for Apple and AMD seems to be indicating the same thing.

A new report claims that Samsung is courting former CPU engineers from Apple and AMD, one of which was a major player in the development of Apple’s custom chipsets. That engineer is demanding to be fully in control of their team and to choose which employees to bring onto the said team.

It will be interesting to see whether Samsung’s latest venture will help the company to take over its competitors in the smartphone market.
