JYP Entertainment confirmed on September 13 that ITZY’s Yeji is dealing with a personal loss, sharing that her grandmother has passed away. The agency shared the news directly with fans as part of an update on the group’s ongoing European tour schedule.

What JYP Entertainment Announced ITZY?

According to the agency’s official statement, Yeji will be unable to take part in a portion of ITZY’s scheduled activities in Amsterdam. Specifically, she will not participate in the VIP soundcheck, the Hi-Bye greeting session, or the Send-Off event connected to the group’s “TUNNEL VISION” World Tour stop in the city. Despite this, JYP confirmed that Yeji will still go on to perform in the main concert as planned.

The agency extended its condolences to Yeji and her family, and asked fans for their understanding and support during this difficult time. They also apologized for the short notice, acknowledging how much fans had been looking forward to the full lineup of tour events.

A Time for Compassion

Moments like these are a reminder of the person behind the performer. ITZY’s fandom, MIDZY, has largely responded with warmth and understanding, focusing their messages on supporting Yeji through her loss rather than dwelling on the schedule changes themselves.

FAQs

Q1. Will Yeji still perform during ITZY’s Amsterdam tour stop?

Yes. According to JYP Entertainment’s official statement, Yeji will still take part in the main “TUNNEL VISION” concert in Amsterdam despite her grandmother’s passing. The only changes affect the surrounding fan-interaction events — the VIP soundcheck, Hi-Bye session, and Send-Off — which she will be sitting out so she can attend to her family during this time.

Q2. Why did JYP Entertainment make this announcement?

JYP Entertainment shared the update to be transparent with fans who had purchased VIP packages or were expecting to see Yeji at every scheduled event during the Amsterdam tour stop. Rather than leaving fans uninformed, the agency chose to explain the situation directly, express condolences to Yeji and her family, and ask for patience and support from the fanbase during a personal and difficult time.
