MAMAMOO’s Jakarta Concert Officially Cancelled Amid Volcanic Safety Concerns — Here’s What Fans Need to Know

Just days before thousands of Indonesian fans were set to see MAMAMOO live, disappointing news arrived. The group’s highly anticipated Jakarta stop on their “4WARD” world tour has been called off, and safety concerns tied to recent volcanic activity are behind the difficult decision.

What Happened with MAMAMOO?

MAMAMOO’s agency RBW confirmed that the “MAMAMOO 2026 WORLD TOUR <4WARD> in JAKARTA,” originally scheduled for September 19, 2026 at NICE PIK 2, will no longer take place. The cancellation comes after ongoing volcanic activity in Indonesia led to heightened local safety and security measures, creating unpredictable conditions that made proceeding with the show too risky.

MAMAMOO: Overview

Why the Decision Was Made

According to RBW’s official statement, the choice wasn’t made lightly. After consulting with the local promoter, the agency prioritized the safety of both the artists and the audience above all else, given how quickly conditions on the ground continued to shift. Indonesia’s location along the Pacific Ring of Fire means the country regularly deals with volcanic activity, which can trigger sudden shifts in air quality, travel safety, and large-event logistics with little warning.

What This Means for Ticket Holders

The good news for fans who already purchased tickets: RBW has confirmed that all tickets will be fully refunded. Specific details regarding the refund process and timeline will be shared separately by the ticketing platform and local promoter, so affected fans should keep an eye out for those follow-up announcements rather than assuming automatic refunds.

A Tour Built on Global Reach

This cancellation is a rare hiccup in what has otherwise been a sprawling international run for MAMAMOO, a South Korean girl group formed in 2014 that has built a reputation for powerful vocals and genre-blending music across a career spanning over a decade. Their sustained global popularity is exactly why cancellations like this sting extra hard for regional fanbases who don’t always get frequent opportunities to see K-pop acts perform live nearby.

RBW’s statement was notably empathetic in tone, directly acknowledging the disappointment this news brings to fans who had been anticipating the show, while reaffirming that safety remained the non-negotiable priority throughout the decision-making process.

What’s Next

As of now, there’s no confirmation on whether Jakarta will be rescheduled later in the tour cycle or dropped entirely from this run. Fans hoping for a future opportunity to catch MAMAMOO live in Indonesia will need to wait for further updates from RBW or the local promoter.
