D23 Expo just handed Marvel fans a gift wrapped in danger — the official poster for “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” Season 2 dropped, and it’s already got the fandom buzzing. Three villains take center stage this time, and each one brings unfinished business with Peter Parker.

Spider-Man Season 2: The Poster That Says It All

Marvel Animation’s Disney+ series wrapped up its first season with plenty of loose threads, and the new artwork ties them together beautifully — by putting Rhino, Doc Ock, and Lizard front and center. Season 2 is set to hit Disney+ in January 2027, and based on this reveal, Peter’s sophomore year is about to get significantly more dangerous.

Meet the Main Threats

Villain	Real Identity	Unfinished Business
Doctor Octopus	Otto Octavius	Escaped prison, seeking revenge on the Osborns and Spider-Man
Rhino	Mikhail Sytsevich	Vowed revenge after a complicated Season 1 rescue
Lizard	Carla Connors	Transforms after working alongside Peter as a colleague

Doc Ock’s Revenge Tour

Season 1 ended with Otto Octavius behind bars, but this poster confirms he’s back in his classic mechanical-arm costume. D23 footage even showed him crashing a gala to abduct Harry Osborn, sparking a rooftop battle that echoes the iconic Spider-Man/Doc Ock showdown from Sam Raimi’s films. Given the animosity built up over Season 1, this rematch feels personal from the jump.

Rhino and Lizard Bring Their Own Baggage

Sytsevich never fully became Rhino in Season 1, but his complicated dynamic with Spider-Man — including a moment where Peter saved his life — set up a rivalry that never got resolved. Meanwhile, Carla Connors’ transformation into Lizard adds emotional weight, since she and Peter worked together before her animalistic side took over.

It’s Not Just These Three

Beyond the poster trio, Season 2 is stacking its rogues’ gallery fast. Norman Osborn continues his shady Oscorp experiments, Scorpion returns seeking payback, and Chameleon’s ties to the 110th Street Gang resurface. Add in a leftover symbiote from Season 1’s cliffhanger — hinting at Eddie Brock’s arrival — and Peter’s plate has never looked fuller.
