Remember the buzz around Yash’s first film after KGF? Well, Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups is now living a very different story at the ticket window. The Geethu Mohandas directorial has slowed to a near halt in its second weekend, and the numbers tell a rough tale.

What Happened Over the Weekend in

Toxic added just Rs 6.75 crore in its second weekend — a brutal 96% drop from its opening weekend rush. Combined with an extended first week of Rs 256.25 crore, the film’s total India gross now stands at Rs 263 crore in 12 days.

The Hindi-dubbed version is now the only thing keeping collections alive, while the South markets — barring some support from Karnataka, Yash’s home state — have gone almost silent after day one.

Where Is Toxic Headed?

With most markets having wrapped up their run, trade estimates suggest Toxic will close somewhere around Rs 270–275 crore gross in India. That might sound decent on paper, but given the film’s reportedly massive budget, it’s shaping up to be one of the costliest box office failures in recent Indian cinema history — especially with weak non-theatrical recoveries adding to the losses.

Toxic stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria, and marked one of the most anticipated pan-India releases of the year.
