Jack Reacher finally gets close to the truth — and nearly pays for it with his life. Episode 6, “Plum Out of Luck,” of Prime Video’s Reacher delivers its most brutal cliffhanger yet, leaving both Reacher and Detective Tamara Green staring down the barrel of a gun.

Reacher Season 4: Episode 6 Key Reveals

Detail	Information
Who’s behind the attack	Leo Ahlquist’s men, led by his associate Vance
How they’re identified	Russell Plum recognizes Ahlquist from Anna Merrick’s 25-year-old photograph
Where they’re tracked	Plutus Chemical, where Ahlquist is destroying evidence
What happens to Reacher & Tamara	Overpowered, captured, and driven to a remote location for execution
Cliffhanger ending	Van doors open with armed men waiting; outcome left unresolved

How the Chase Unfolds

After Russell Plum identifies the mysterious fourth man in Anna Merrick’s old photograph as Leo Ahlquist, Reacher and Tamara track him down at Plutus Chemical. Instead of finding a frightened scientist, they discover Ahlquist calmly destroying evidence — fully aware that Nolan Cahill had already tipped him off about the data leak. His unnervingly calm demeanor suggests the photograph holds far bigger secrets than Reacher initially suspected.

Things escalate quickly when Ahlquist’s associate Vance arrives with armed mercenaries. Despite putting up a serious fight, Reacher and Tamara are ultimately subdued and taken alive — only because their captors have orders to kill them somewhere off-site, away from witnesses.

The Brutal Cliffhanger

The episode closes with Reacher and Tamara handcuffed inside a plastic-lined transport van, driven deep into the woods. In a rare, vulnerable moment, Reacher tells Tamara to face whatever comes next without fear rather than promising they’ll make it out alive. When the van finally stops and the doors swing open, armed men are waiting — and the screen cuts to black before anything is resolved.

Why This Matters Going Forward

While the identity of Reacher and Tamara’s captors is now clear, the bigger conspiracy connecting Ahlquist, Congressman Sampson, General Putra, and Nolan Cahill remains only partially uncovered. With Jacob also caught in his own dangerous situation and the thumb drive back in the wrong hands, the show is clearly setting up a high-stakes final stretch.
