Winning The Lottery Was The Easy Part In “The Ordinary Jackpot”

Most workplace dramas run on ambition and rivalry. This one runs on something far more relatable — a regular office worker who wins big and discovers the money isn’t actually the plot twist. TVING’s upcoming original “The Ordinary Jackpot” just released new character stills, and the real story is what happens to everyone around him once he changes.

Based on a webtoon, the series follows Gong Eun Tae (Lee Jun Hyuk), an ordinary sales employee who scoops a 1.3 billion won lottery jackpot — roughly $950,000. Not quite life-flipping money, but enough to shift his outlook. Instead of quitting, he shows up to work the next day as a fundamentally different person, and that ripple effect is where the drama actually lives.

The Ordinary Jackpot: Meet the Colleagues Feeling the Shift

Yang Joon Ho, played by Seo Hyun Woo, is the classic overlooked senior — passed over for promotion and now stuck reporting to Gong Eun Tae, someone who joined the company after him. The stills capture his simmering resentment, though Seo Hyun Woo has described the character as someone who’s secretly loyal underneath the attitude, popular with everyone except the man now leading his team.

Oh Dae Hwan’s Jung Sun Hyuk gets the more layered introduction — shown comforting Gong Eun Tae on a rooftop in one still, then buried in cigarette smoke and quiet turmoil in the next. Both actors have described their characters as neither purely good nor bad, just ordinary people reacting to an extraordinary disruption in their routine.

With a grounded premise and a cast clearly leaning into nuance over caricature, “The Ordinary Jackpot” looks like it’s betting on emotional honesty rather than fantasy money-spending montages — and that might be exactly what makes it worth watching.
