“Dive Into You”: Kim Ji Yeon Time-Travels to Save Her First Love in New Fantasy Romance

The first look at Kim Ji Yeon in her new drama Dive Into You has arrived, and it’s already promising a story built around love, loss, and a desperate chance to rewrite fate.

What the Story Is About?

Dive Into You is a soul-swapping fantasy romance centered on a top actress whose soul swaps with her twin brother’s after an accident, sending her back in time to prevent the death of her first love. Kim Ji Yeon plays Yoon Ha Na, a celebrated actress known for her explosive on-screen performances. Off camera, however, she struggles with emotional blunting — a condition that makes it difficult for her to recognize her own feelings. The one person who sees through that emotional wall is her bodyguard and first love, Jung Woo Jae, who has stood by her since their school days.

Dive Into You: Overview

The Emotional Core of the Story

When Jung Woo Jae unexpectedly passes away, Yoon Ha Na is left devastated, having lost the only person she could truly be herself with. While looking back at memories captured on an old camcorder, she’s suddenly transported back in time to when she was 18 — right back to when she and Jung Woo Jae first met. Given this unexpected second chance, she commits to using every moment to save him before history can repeat itself.

What the New Stills Reveal

The newly released images contrast Yoon Ha Na’s two worlds beautifully — her polished, public-facing present as a top actress attending award ceremonies and traveling internationally, versus her innocent, dream-chasing high school self after the time slip. In several stills, she’s seen clutching the camcorder tightly, the only bridge connecting her present self to the past she’s fighting to change.

Why This Premise Stands Out

Time-slip dramas have become a beloved subgenre within Korean television, often blending high-concept fantasy with deeply personal emotional stakes. What makes Dive Into You particularly intriguing is its layered premise — combining a soul-swap mystery with a race-against-time romance, giving the story multiple threads to unravel as Yoon Ha Na tries to change fate using nothing but an old camcorder as her lifeline. Kim Ji Yeon, previously seen in The Haunted Palace, brings proven range to a role demanding both glamour and vulnerability.
