After a ten-year wait, Bigg Boss Bangla finally returned on Sunday — and this time, it’s cricketing legend Sourav Ganguly holding the mic instead of a film star. The grand premiere saw sixteen contestants walk into a specially-built 7,000 sq ft house, packed with references to Bengal’s culture, from the Royal Bengal Tiger to iconic yellow Ambassador taxis. Here’s a complete rundown of everyone who entered — and how the night unfolded.

Inside the Season’s Standout Entries

Monami Ghosh opened the show, kicking off the night with a Durga-themed dance tribute ahead of the festive season. A veteran of Bengali television for nearly two decades, she declared she’s ready to play every role the house demands — “Durga, Kali, or Tara Ma.”

Sohini Pal, daughter of the late actor Tapas Pal, brought an emotional edge early on, speaking candidly about carrying her father’s legacy despite the controversies that shadowed his life.

Niranjan Mondal, the social media sensation known online as “Laughtersane,” entered in traditional dhoti-kurta, calling himself “very childlike” and admitting household chores aren’t his strong suit.

Dipendu Biswas, a former national-level footballer who played for East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, brought a sporting pedigree that matched the host’s own — his daughter, he revealed, is more thrilled about the show than he is.

Srijla Guha, known for the romantic drama Mon Phagun, opened up about a tough upbringing, revealing she once survived on Rs 30-35 rolls a day after leaving home in her late teens, per her family’s tradition of independence.

Sayak stirred an early controversy when Ganguly himself brought up backlash around his food choices, advising him to simply turn off his comment section to avoid online noise.

Jhilam Gupta, popularly called “Jhikimiki Tumpa” for her blunt online persona, even got to bowl to Ganguly on stage — a full-circle moment for someone who grew up playing cricket.

Sonamoni Saha closed out the entries as the sixteenth and final contestant, confidently declaring her intent to go all the way: “I will make it till the end, and I will take the trophy home with me.”

Cricket Meets Reality TV

Adding star power to the launch, former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh made a surprise appearance, embracing Ganguly on stage and calling him “Bigg Boss for us.” Ganguly, for his part, compared managing the house to his cricketing days: “I will manage everything like I have managed fast bowlers.”
