The numbers are still falling, but the finish line looks respectable — for now. Yash’s much-hyped Toxic added another Rs. 26 crore on Saturday, its fourth day in theatres, nudging the film past the Rs. 200 crore mark in India. That’s an 8% dip from Friday — smaller than the drops seen earlier in the week, but a dip nonetheless. The film has now grossed Rs. 204 crore domestically and is on track to wrap its extended five-day weekend around Rs. 230 crore.

Overseas business remains soft, with the international haul expected to settle near USD 3 million, pushing the worldwide extended weekend total past Rs. 250 crore.

With very little upside expected after this weekend, Toxic’s theatrical run is essentially wrapping up. Behind the numbers, though, lies a bigger concern — the film’s massive budget and weak non-theatrical recoveries mean the losses could rank among the steepest in Indian cinema history.
