Dhanush Might Just Be Director Siva’s Next Big Bet — Here’s the Buzz

Ajith Kumar fans expected a reunion. Instead, Kollywood is buzzing about a completely different pairing that nobody saw coming. Dhanush may be teaming up with Kanguva director Siva for a mass commercial entertainer — and if it happens, it’ll be their first film together.

What’s the Buzz About Dhanush and Siva?

According to a report by Valai Pechu, Siva is reportedly gearing up to direct Dhanush in a massy actioner packed with strong emotional beats, aimed squarely at his fanbase. The film may be produced by Seven Screen Studios, with shooting tentatively expected to begin in early December 2026. As of now, this remains unconfirmed by either party.

What Happened to Siva-Ajith Kumar Reunion?

Interestingly, Siva was widely expected to reunite with Ajith Kumar for another project, but that collaboration now appears to be on hold. Ajith, meanwhile, is reportedly set to work with Adhik Ravichander on Dare Devil, followed by a project with Venkat Prabhu — filling up his own packed schedule.

This kind of director-actor musical chairs is common in Tamil cinema, where big-banner filmmakers often juggle multiple star pairings before locking a final project.

What’s Next for Dhanush

Dhanush was last seen in Kara, an action thriller where he plays a reformed thief pulled back into crime to save his family’s land. He’s currently filming Om, an action drama also starring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, and Naseeruddin Shah, releasing October 16, 2026 — setting up a box-office clash with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, out a day earlier.

Beyond that, Dhanush has projects lined up with Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, Mari Selvaraj, and a confirmed reunion with Vetrimaaran on Thamizh Murugan.
