For a long time, Google is making hard efforts with Android TV OS, which seems to gear up finally with the latest hardware, Google TV, and more. It has been reported that with the expansion of the platform, the YouTube application for Android TV has just crossed 100 million installations.

Recently Play Store has confirmed that YouTube for Android has crossed over 100 million installations over the entire time period since 2014. In May 2020, the previous milestone was 50 million reported by Android Police. Indeed, the timing is never 100% in the Play Store, but it is still impressive growth for the platform of Google.

Android TV is likely approaching 50 million users globally

If you see then, one thing is definitely notable here that YouTube is a preinstalled application virtually on all Android TV devices, so this event provides us with a good indication about how the platform is expanding and growing. On a report, Google has declared that there are over 80 million monthly active TV devices in the wild, so 100 million installs indicate that even more have been sold and fallen out in the rotation.

It does not look quite surprising; though 2020 is a pandemic year, it is a growing year for every streaming platform. There is only one exception is Roku. Even Google also mentioned at I/O that the growth of Android TV jumped by 80% in the United States of America.
