Stamford Bridge gets its Carabao Cup lights on as Chelsea Cup Comfort vs Luton Momentum takes centre stage in the second round. The Blues, fresh off their Premier League opener, host Jack Wilshere’s League One outfit — and history is firmly on Chelsea’s side, having won all three of the last meetings between these clubs. But cup football loves a shock, and Luton arrive with genuine momentum from League One. Here’s everything you need before kickoff.

Preview & Prediction
Chelsea’s squad depth should tell in this tie. Enzo Maresca is expected to rotate, giving fringe players and academy talents valuable minutes, while Luton will lean on discipline and set-piece threat to stay competitive. Numbers suggest a narrow verdict in Chelsea’s favour — think a comfortable but not one-sided scoreline, somewhere around 2-0 or 3-1.
Likely Lineups
Chelsea (rotated XI expected): A backup goalkeeper, a mixed defensive line, and fresh legs in midfield and attack are likely, with fringe forwards given a chance to impress.
Luton Town: Wilshere is expected to field his strongest available XI, built around a compact 3-4-2-1 shape to frustrate Chelsea and hit on the counter.
