Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that Asur Season 3 is set to go on floors this September, with the story moving into a fresh chapter. Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti return as Dhananjay Rajpoot and Nikhil Nair, the characters who’ve anchored the franchise since its debut season. Joining them this time is actress Shweta Basu Prasad, though details about her role are being kept tightly under wraps for now.
A source close to the production shared that the scripting is locked and the team is preparing to begin shooting in September, with Shweta Basu Prasad joining the cast and creator Gaurav Shukla stepping into the director’s chair for this season.
A Major Behind-the-Camera Shift
Perhaps the biggest change this season has nothing to do with casting. Gaurav Shukla, who has written and created Asur since its inception, will make his directorial debut with Season 3. The show’s first two seasons were both directed by Oni Sen, with Shukla handling the writing. This time, Shukla takes on directing duties as well as producing.
