Regional flavors just got their biggest stage yet. Laqshya Media Group has stepped into original content creation with its first-ever IP — a culinary reality show built entirely around Uttar Pradesh’s rich, diverse food culture.
What Is “Uttar Pradesh Ka Uttam Chef”?
Laqshya Media Group has launched a culinary reality series titled “Uttar Pradesh Ka Uttam Chef,” marking the debut original intellectual property from its content arm, Laqshya StoryWorks. Premiering on &TV on August 1, the show now airs every Saturday at 6:30 PM, with repeat telecasts on Sundays at 9:00 AM, and streams on ZEE5. It also gets a regional push through Zee News UP/UK, giving it a rare multi-platform footprint across OTT, GEC, and news.

A Talent Hunt Rooted In Culture
Billed as a first-of-its-kind culinary talent hunt for Uttar Pradesh, the show drew over 350 entries from 75 districts, narrowing down to 15 finalists representing regional cuisines from Awadh, Mughal, Bundelkhand, and Purvanchal traditions. It’s less a straightforward cooking contest and more a celebration of family recipes and food heritage passed down through generations — the kind of storytelling that turns local flavor into national conversation, not unlike how Awadhi cuisine has long shaped North Indian food culture.
