Jadon Sancho was expected to leave Borussia Dortmund last summer itself, with the player having reached an agreement with Manchester United. However, the two clubs were unable to settle on a final price for the winger, and the deal ultimately fell through.
According to Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast, we will have some important updates about his future in the next few days. The club has a gentleman’s agreement with Sancho, that he will be allowed to leave if a bid worth €90-95 million arrives early in the transfer window.
The board has made it clear that they will not be considering bids placed late, which includes the month of August in its entirety. But, it is worth noting that they have dropped their asking price by a third in comparison to last year.
There is no interest from Liverpool if they don’t sell a star player this summer, according to Romano. Manchester United are still looking at him and only have an interest. The youngster was always on the list, but there are no negotiations taking place as of now.
Sancho has been selected in the England squad and will feature for his national team at the European Championships in a few days time. His future will possibly be decided after the tournament is over. He struggled in the initial phase of the 20/21 season, but eventually got his form back, and finished the campaign with a DFB Pokal title victory.
