Alliance Broke the Reality TV Rulebook — Here’s How

Daily episodes usually burn viewers out fast. Alliance flipped that risk into its biggest strength. Hosted by Kunal Kemmu, Alliance went against conventional reality TV wisdom by airing daily episodes at 12 noon across 42 episodes over six weeks on Prime Video. Instead of leaning on manufactured chaos and constant confrontation, the show built its format around testing contestants’ physical, mental, and emotional capabilities — a rarer approach in a genre that usually thrives on conflict for its own sake.

Alliance: Overview

Why Kunal Kemmu’s hosting stands out

Kunal Kemmu’s calm, witty, and authoritative presence has become central to the show’s appeal. Despite his star power, he doesn’t overshadow the contestants — instead, he elevates the game with sharp one-liners and manages high-tension moments without letting things spiral into chaos. That balance has helped Alliance carve its own identity in a crowded reality space dominated by shows that rely on manufactured drama.

The contestant list reflects the show’s mixed appeal, blending reality TV veterans like Nikhil Chinapa, Ravi Kishan, Sohail Khan, Mini Mathur, Aly Goni, Kushal Tandon, Daisy Shah, and Niti Taylor with social media personalities such as Zaid Darbar, Ruhee Dosani, Payal Dhare, and Armaan Khera. This cross-generational cast, paired with the daily airing format, has kept the show consistently in conversation as it heads toward its finale — helped along by moments like Seema Sajdeh’s emotional exit and Salman Khan’s recent visit to support brother Sohail Khan.
