Actress Kim You Jung is stepping into bold new territory — both on screen and off. Ahead of her upcoming tvN drama “100 Days of Deception,” she sat down with Allure for a striking pictorial and candid interview as part of the network’s 20th anniversary project.
100 Days of Deception: Inside Her Upcoming Drama
“100 Days of Deception” is a period spy romance set during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Kim You Jung plays Lee Ga Gyeong, Gyeongseong’s most skilled pickpocket, who goes undercover as an interpreter trainee inside the Japanese Government-General of Korea.
Kim shared that this marks her first project set in Gyeongseong, and that the script struck her immediately with a depth beyond simple entertainment, convincing her it was a genuinely strong project. She noted the drama is emotionally demanding, with the character relationships standing out as the most compelling part of the story. She described the project’s central theme as love in its many forms — for a person, for a country, and for one’s own dreams — as the driving force worth protecting.

Outside of acting, she opened up about finding balance through exercise and travel, calling exercise a comforting refuge and travel a source of fresh emotions and unexpected discovery. She reflected fondly on connections made during trips like the Camino de Santiago and a cross-country train journey through Canada, along with a deep appreciation for nature that fills her with quiet gratitude.
