LVL Zero, a gaming incubator established by ChimeraVC in collaboration with MIXI Global Investments and Nazara Technologies, has concluded its inaugural 100-day program. The incubator hosted its Demo Day on July 21, 2026, in Bengaluru, presenting ten early-stage Indian gaming startups to a gathering of investors, publishers, and industry stakeholders.

The event, held at The Lalit Ashok, marked the culmination of a program designed to accelerate game development companies across India. Participants included representatives from Sony Interactive Entertainment, Krafton, Roblox, Unity, Google, Elevation Capital, Blume Ventures, India Quotient, Yale University Endowment Fund, PhonePe’s Indus Appstore, Venture Catalysts, Accel, and AppsFlyer, among others.

LVL Zero: Program Details and Startup Diversity

The LVL Zero program provided selected startups with mentorship, strategic guidance, and access to industry networks. Each of the ten companies received a USD 10,000 equity-free grant to support product development during the 100-day incubation period. The cohort was chosen from over 240 applications nationwide.

The featured startups – Kyrel Games, Trojan Productions, Wrought Studios, Impulse Mechanics, YK Game Studio, Arckon Arts, Xigma Games, Prescription Studios, Rudrac Games, and KALP Studio – showcased projects spanning various genres and platforms, including narrative adventures, strategy games, sandbox experiences, cooperative puzzle titles, psychological horror, and experimental gameplay concepts for PC, console, and mobile. Founders presented their products, development progress, business models, and future expansion strategies to the audience.

Urabe stated that the program has supported founders in refining their products and business approaches, contributing to the broader game development ecosystem.

Deepak MV, Head of Strategy at Nazara Technologies, highlighted the program’s focus on execution, aiming to help founders transition from game development to building sustainable companies. He observed significant progress across the cohort in product development, go-to-market strategies, and understanding studio building.

Krish Anurag, Managing Partner at Chimera VC and Founding Partner of LVL Zero, emphasized the incubator’s goal of fostering scalable companies beyond individual game titles. He pointed to the diversity of projects as indicative of emerging talent with global ambitions from India.

Market Context and Future Outlook

The Demo Day also underscored a growing trend within the Indian gaming ecosystem: an increasing number of startups are developing games for PC and console audiences, signaling a shift beyond traditional mobile-first models. The incubator aims to address key challenges in the sector by providing capital, knowledge, talent, distribution, and global expansion opportunities.

According to a FICCI-EY Media & Entertainment Industry Report 2026, Indian studios with globally successful titles generated between USD 0.8 billion and USD 1.2 billion in revenue during 2025-26, with a significant portion derived from international markets. The report projects India’s gaming industry to grow at 20-30% annually, potentially reaching between USD 2.8 billion and USD 4.8 billion annually by 2028-29, establishing the country as a global hub for game development and export.
