A Doctor’s Oath vs. A Husband’s Rage — “The Husband” Sets Up Its Toughest Episode Yet

KBS 2TV’s thriller “The Husband” is throwing its lead into an impossible moral bind, and newly released stills for episode 7 show exactly how far the story is willing to go.

Where the Story Left Off

Namkoong Min stars as Kang Tae Joo, a man on the brink of divorce who gets pulled into a desperate fight to save his kidnapped wife, Go Se Yoon (Lee Seol). After tracking down kidnapper Noh Man Hee (Kim Dae Myeung), Kang Tae Joo and his wife nearly escape — only for Noh Man Hee to launch a brutal counterattack, ending in a shocking shovel attack fueled by pure rage.

What’s Coming in Episode 7

The new stills jump straight into the operating room, where Kang Tae Joo — now back in his role as a surgeon — must operate on Kim Kyung Ae (Lee Sang Hee), the very woman responsible for kidnapping his wife. Gone is his previously shaken expression; in its place, a sharp, focused stare as he picks up the scalpel without hesitation.

As the surgery unfolds and blood splatters across the operating table, Kang Tae Joo is forced to confront an agonizing question: does he treat Kim Kyung Ae as a patient whose life he’s sworn to save, or as the criminal who upended his family?

The Husband: Overview

Why This Moment Matters

The production team described this as a pivotal turning point, noting that Kang Tae Joo “leaves behind his roles as both a fugitive and a pursuer and returns as a doctor who must save his patient.” They also teased that Namkoong Min’s performance in this episode delivers an even deeper level of immersion than what fans have seen so far.

Whether Kim Kyung Ae survives — and what Kang Tae Joo decides to do with that outcome — is shaping up to be one of the most tense moments in the series yet.
