A blog post from Amitabh Bachchan sparked genuine panic among fans this week — but the 83-year-old megastar has now cleared up exactly what he meant, and it has nothing to do with his health.

What Sparked the Confusion

Bachchan’s original post described a hospital stay, surgery, and time in the ICU, followed by a difficult homecoming period — “physically, psychologically and practically.” Naturally, fans assumed the worst about his health. But the actor has now confirmed he never underwent any medical procedure at all.

Instead, he revealed the post was a metaphor for Argentina’s defeat to Spain in the FIFA World Cup final and what Lionel Messi might be going through in its aftermath.

Amitabh Bachchan: Straight From Big B Himself

Speaking to Variety India, Bachchan clarified: “I am fine. I did not undergo surgery. It is a misunderstood post.” He explained that he was drawing a parallel between post-surgery recovery and the emotional aftermath of a champion’s loss — not describing his own experience.

“I was referring to Argentina’s loss and Messi as a champion that lost. People have assumed it’s a reference to me,” he added.

Far from slowing down, Bachchan remains busy with a packed professional schedule.
