What Is This Show, Exactly?
Created by Larry David and longtime collaborator Jeff Schaffer, and produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, the seven-episode limited series was built to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Each episode weaves together roughly four separate historical sketches, dropping David’s signature cranky persona into different flashpoints of American history — think the Boston Tea Party, George Washington crossing the Delaware, and beyond. The dialogue leans largely improvised, giving each sketch that familiar loose, irritable energy David is known for.
Episode 4, “Deepthroat,” covered four different historical storylines, continuing the show’s format of blending genuine history with comedic exaggeration.
What’s Left In The Season
With only two episodes remaining after this one, the series wraps up with its finale on August 7, 2026. The show has maintained its Friday release schedule without disruption since launch, so viewers can expect that same reliable rhythm through to the end.
