IVE’s Gaeul Will Sit Out TIMA 2026 As Group Prepares To Perform With Five Members

Award show lineups rarely go exactly as planned, and this year’s TMElive International Music Awards is proving that once again. STARSHIP Entertainment has confirmed that IVE’s Gaeul won’t be joining her group for the upcoming ceremony.

The Announcement

On July 10, STARSHIP Entertainment announced that Gaeul will be unable to participate in IVE’s scheduled appearance at the 2026 TMElive InternationalMusic Awards (TIMA), which will be held on August 23 at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, due to a prior personal schedule.

What The Agency Said

The agency explained that despite efforts to adjust the schedule so Gaeul could attend, unavoidable circumstances meant she would be unable to join, and asked fans for their understanding. As a result, IVE will take the stage at TIMA 2026 with five members: An Yu Jin, Rei, Jang Won Young, Liz, and Leeseo. soompisoompi

IVE: Overview

Why This Matters

Member absences at major award shows are fairly common in the K-pop industry, where packed individual schedules often clash with group commitments. STARSHIP’s statement kept things straightforward, with no indication that Gaeul’s absence signals anything beyond a scheduling conflict.

Group activities like these are a defining feature of the K-pop industry, where idols juggle individual and group schedules across packed comeback and event calendars.
