Ghosts, Giggles, and a Slow-Burn Romance — “Spooky in Love” Teaser Has It All

Some K-dramas hook you with tension. This one hooks you with a scaredy-cat prosecutor fainting next to a ghost he can’t even see — and honestly, that’s all the convincing needed.

tvN’s upcoming occult romance “Spooky in Love,” a remake of the 2011 film “Spellbound,” just dropped a new teaser starring Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong, and it’s a perfect blend of comedy, mystery, and unexpected heart. The story follows a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a prosecutor who’s terrified of them — an odd-couple pairing that somehow makes complete sense once the chemistry kicks in.

Spooky in Love: Overview

What the Teaser Reveals

In the clip, prosecutor Ma Gang Wook proposes a rather unconventional partnership with hotel CEO Cheon Yeo Ri: use her ability to communicate with spirits to crack unsolved cases. It’s a great plan on paper — except Ma Gang Wook is so afraid of ghosts that he panics, and even faints, the moment one gets too close.

Despite the chaos, the teaser hints at real emotional depth developing between them. Cheon Yeo Ri, who has always avoided physical contact because anyone touching her ends up seeing ghosts too, is shown holding hands with Ma Gang Wook — a small but meaningful shift for her character. Meanwhile, he starts showing surprising courage, stepping up to protect her despite his fears.

This blend of horror, humor, and romance fits neatly into the evolving landscape of Korean drama, a genre known for effortlessly mixing tones without losing emotional consistency — something this teaser pulls off in just a couple of minutes.
