“I Think You Should Leave” Season 4: Coming, Just Not Yet

Three years is a long time to wait for more unhinged sketch comedy. Tim Robinson’s cult-favorite I Think You Should Leave hasn’t had a new season since May 2023, and fans are understandably restless. The good news: everyone involved says it’s happening. The catch: nobody’s saying when.

Why Netflix Is Being Patient

Unlike shows that get swiftly renewed or cancelled, Netflix appears to be giving Tim Robinson and co-creator Zach Kanin room to work at their own pace. A SAG-AFTRA listing for a fourth season has quietly existed for years, suggesting the groundwork is already there.

In a May 2026 Variety interview, Netflix’s comedy executives confirmed they haven’t pressured Robinson, noting his clear passion for the show and their expectation that he’ll return to it eventually. Producer Akiva Schaffer went further in a separate Collider interview, revealing that a deal is officially signed and that sketches are already being written, even if no release timeline exists yet.

What’s Been Keeping Robinson Busy

Since Season 3 wrapped, Robinson has stayed far from idle — co-creating HBO’s The Chair Company (recently renewed for Season 2), starring alongside Paul Rudd in A24’s Friendship, and touring the country with a live stand-up show. With The Chair Company’s first season complete, attention may finally shift back to the sketch series once HBO’s next round wraps.

Sketch comedy has long been a training ground for some of television’s most influential voices, tracing back through decades of the format documented on Wikipedia’s sketch comedy overview.
