So Ji Sub’s action-revenge hit “Agent Kim Reactivated” has become one of the biggest surprise successes on Korean TV this year — and now, SBS itself is weighing in on whether fans can expect a Season 2.

On July 6, an SBS representative addressed the buzz directly, saying there are no official discussions happening yet. However, they also acknowledged that the drama is fully capable of expanding into a seasonal format, which naturally explains why viewer expectations keep building.

Agent Kim Reactivated: Overview

Detail	Info
Drama	Agent Kim Reactivated
Network	SBS
Lead Actor	So Ji Sub as Manager Kim
Premiere Rating	9.5%
Episode 4 Rating	21.6%
All-Time SBS Rank	3rd highest-rated Fri-Sat drama
Total Episodes	10 (short run)

Based on a popular webtoon, the drama follows Manager Kim — a seemingly ordinary dad hiding a dangerous secret past — as he risks everything to save his daughter. What started as a strong premiere has turned into a genuine ratings phenomenon, climbing steadily with every episode until hitting 21.6% in just its fourth outing.

That puts it behind only two SBS legends on the all-time Friday-Saturday chart: “The Penthouse 2” (29.2%) and “The Fiery Priest” (22%) — remarkable company for a freshman drama.

Despite the success, fans have voiced real disappointment over its short 10-episode run in today’s binge-heavy OTT era. Adding fuel to the Season 2 conversation, lead actor So Ji Sub himself openly expressed hope for a continuation while attending SBS’s drama media day event on July 1 — meaning both the cast and viewers are rooting for the same outcome.

For now, all eyes remain on whether SBS will eventually greenlight a second chapter for one of its most talked-about hits of the year, in a market increasingly shaped by the growing global reach of Korean television dramas.
