Alpha, the spy action drama led by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has wrapped up its opening weekend with a worldwide gross of around Rs 55 crore — a respectable start, though not the blockbuster launch YRF may have hoped for. The Shiv Rawail-directed film added roughly Rs 13 crore on its first Sunday, closing its domestic weekend at Rs 33.50 crore nett (Rs 39.50 crore gross).

Overseas, the film pulled in over USD 1.7 million, translating to roughly Rs 16 crore, rounding off its global three-day haul.

India	Rs 39.50 crore
Overseas	Rs 16.00 crore (USD 1.7M)
Worldwide Total	Rs 55.50 crore

Given the film’s high production budget and word-of-mouth that hasn’t been entirely in its favor, trade experts believe Alpha faces an uphill battle to turn a profit. Everything now hinges on its Monday hold — a strong weekday performance could help the film inch toward respectability, while a sharp drop might confirm early fears of it underperforming for YRF.

Interestingly, the film has also grabbed headlines for featuring a surprise cameo, adding an extra layer of curiosity for audiences who haven’t watched it yet.

Alpha adds to 2026’s growing list of big-ticket Bollywood releases navigating a tricky post-pandemic theatrical landscape, where word-of-mouth and social media buzz increasingly make or break a film’s opening weekend fate.
