Richer, sharper, and this time with a brand-new partner who matches his energy move for move — Jin Yi Soo’s return to the precinct just got a confirmed date, and August cannot come fast enough.

SBS’s upcoming Flex x Cop 2 has shared first photos from its script reading session, bringing together director Kim Jae Hong, writer Kim Bada, and the show’s full ensemble cast for the very first time this season. The energy in those room is already palpable.

What Is Flex x Cop 2 About?

Flex x Cop 2 follows third-generation chaebol detective Jin Yi Soo, played by Ahn Bo Hyun, who deploys his wealth and connections like cheat codes in his investigations, alongside veteran detective Joo Hye Ra, played by Jung Eun Chae, as the two team up to pursue increasingly cunning criminals.

Season 2 brings meaningful evolution to both lead characters. Why Flex x Cop 2 Is One of the Most Anticipated K-Dramas of the Season

The original Flex x Cop built a passionate fanbase through its sharp blend of comedic charisma and genuine crime-thriller tension — a combination that is notoriously difficult to balance, yet the show made it look effortless. Korean crime dramas have a long tradition of sequel seasons raising the stakes in exactly the right ways, and the script reading photos suggest Season 2 is taking that responsibility seriously.

With a brand-new female lead injecting fresh dynamic into the partnership and the returning ensemble arriving with an even stronger foundation, Flex x Cop 2 looks set to be one of August’s most-watched debuts.
