Oasis Netflix Review: Spain’s Sun-Soaked Resort Mystery Is Gorgeous to Look At — But Doesn’t Quite Sizzle Beneath the Surface

Every summer, Netflix drops at least one glossy, sun-drenched mystery series designed to be devoured over a weekend. Oasis — the new Spanish thriller set inside a sealed luxury resort — is 2026’s entry in that category. It looks stunning. It moves quickly. But does it have the soul to match its scenery? Not quite.

Oasis Series : Overview

What Is Oasis About?

The show imagines a luxurious resort with all accommodations, maximum security, and a must-see getaway for rich families across the country. After an eventful and spirited first night, the hotel is rocked by the morning disappearance of Celia, who is also the director’s daughter. whats-on-netflix

Into this locked-room scenario steps Dani, a first-time visitor, and hotel employee Helena, both of whom become unlikely investigators driven by personal ties to the missing girl. It’s the kind of mystery thriller setup that practically writes itself — young people, secrets, money, and a stunning coastal backdrop.

Tenerife Looks Incredible. The Drama? Less So.

Let’s start with what works. The location shoot in Tenerife delivers splendid 4K sights of labyrinthine resort facilities and chasing fish underwater while on yachts. Visually, this is premium television — Bambú Producciones know how to make a show look expensive, and Oasis absolutely delivers on that front.

The pacing is also commendable. The show wastes no time introducing its dozen or more characters and launches into their respective stories — and despite all of this, Oasis never feels cluttered.

But here’s where the cracks show. The show struggles to execute the scandals and affairs unrelated to its main mystery. Even as boyfriends get stolen, secrets get revealed, and betrayals do happen, the show has trouble delivering juicy twists and letting high emotions get the best of its characters. You keep waiting for the moment it truly lets loose — and it never quite does.

Comparisons to Élite are inevitable, and sadly, Oasis doesn’t match that series’ sharp, provocative edge. And as for being in White Lotus territory? The creators have no intention to blow up the lives of groups of guests, nor do they possess the biting snark of a Mike White, despite the luxurious setting. whats-on-netflix

The MVP: Ana Garcés as Helena

As hotel employee Helena — working at the establishment part-time while awaiting her entrance into medical school — Garcés becomes the face of the show. A representative of the working class taken for granted by the rich clientele, Helena is given a fiery temperament and determination that will propel most of the show. She’s the reason to keep watching when the subplots stall. whats-on-netflix

Conclusion

Light-as-a-feather entertainment that somewhat works as a mystery thriller but disappoints as a juicy, soapy drama — still, for subscribers wanting to satiate their thirst, this is a refreshing, easily digestible series. whats-on-netflix

Think of it as a poolside thriller — enjoyable in the moment, but you won’t be thinking about it by sundown.
