Liverpool kept their ‘Top 4’ dream alive beating Manchester United at Old Trafford by 4-2. Roberto Firmino’s brace and a goal from both Diogo Jota and Mohammed Salah sealed the victory for the Reds over their rivals.
The Derby was scheduled to be played on the 2nd of May. But Manchester United fans vented their anger at the club’s owners before the match. A protest was organized by a set of fans against the Glazers family which forced the officials to postpone the match then.
The match was rescheduled today and Manchester United fans showed their protest again today. But the match has been played this time.
Manchester United started the game pretty well as Bruno Fernandes put the Red Devils into a lead within 10 minutes. But Diogo Jota scored the equalizer in the 34th minute followed by Roberto Firmino’s goal just before halftime.
Firmino scored his second just after half-time. Marcus Rashford pulled one back for the Red Devils in the 68th minute but Salah’s 90th-minute winner sealed the victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Liverpool is currently 5th in the table, 4 points behind Chelsea with a game in hand. The Reds will take on West Bromwich Albion Sunday in their next Premier League game.
