It’s official! The Honor Play 5 Series will be out on May 18th. The coming Tuesday we will witness The Honor Play 5 with its quad-camera setup, a waterdrop front camera setup, and presumably, an OLED screen with in-display fingerprint scanning as the images display no existence of a fingerprint scanner on the rear.
The Honor Play 5 has a sim card slot to its left whereas it has the volume control and power button to the right. The design of the phone is visibly different from an earlier render that had leaked previously.
As of now, we know that the Honor Play 5 will feature a full HD+ OLED screen of 6.53 inches. The handset has a thickness of only 7.46mm and weighs 179 grams.
Powered by the Dimensity 800U chipset and featuring a 3800mAh battery, it is expected to feature a 66W fast charger. As far as the out-of-the-box OS is concerned, the Honor Play 5 will feature Android 11.
Regarding the rear camera, it is believed to be a 64MP main camera with an ultrawide lens of 8MP and a pair of 2MP cameras for capturing macro and depth shots.
The front camera is possibly a 16MP one and the device will support 5G sim cards. The Honor Play 5 is expected to have 8GB RAM and come with 128GB storage space and can be expanded by another 256GB.
The device will support a USB type C cable. The main concern is regarding the battery as in the market almost every device in this price range comes with a 4,000-4,500mAh battery, it is interesting to see that Honor has gone with a 3800mAh one.
